Denzel is America’s Favorite Movie Star – Again

Will Smith, Morgan Freeman also in the top ten.

For the third year in a row, Denzel Washington comes in on top as America’s favorite movie star, beating Clint Eastwood at No. 2 and John Wayne and Will Smith, in a tie for No. 3, according to The Harris Poll.

Washington, who is about to begin shooting “The Book of Eli” opposite Jennifer Beals, also ranked No. 1 among Baby Boomers (those aged 44-62), and among Democrats, the company revealed in a press release.

Harrison Ford came in at No. 5, followed by Julia Roberts (No. 6), Tom Hanks (No. 7, down from No. 2), Johnny Depp (No. 8, down from No. 3), and two new additions to the list tied at No. 9 – Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

As the nation’s first black president settles in to the White House, Harris points out that the latest top ten list is one of the more diverse; three of the actors are African American.
