O.J. Simpson threw a Super Bowl party in prison

Just because O.J. Simpson is in the slammer doesn’t mean he forgot how to party.

Simpson reportedly threw a Super Bowl party in prison on Feb. 3, according to the New York Post. The former NFL star allegedly held the bash in his cell — one of the only ones with a television — at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nev.

Friends crammed into the 80-square-foot space to party with Simpson and watch the Baltimore Ravens face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. “If you have the money, you can buy a TV at the inmate store and put it in your cell,†Simpson’s friend and producer Norman Pardo, told the Post.

You can probably guess which team Simpson, who played for the 49ers in the ’70s, was rooting for.

The 65-year-old is currently serving time at the Nevada prison.

In 2008, Simpson was sentenced to up to 33 years for charges including kidnapping and assault related to a Las Vegas armed robbery in 2006, ABC News previously reported. He will be eligible for release after nine years if granted parole.

Simpson was convicted on Oct. 3, 2008, 13 years after he was acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.

Last month it was revealed that prison time isn’t the only thing weighing on Simpson. The football great currently owes the government a whopping $515,000 in unpaid federal taxes.
